Thanks to HTS and EDI, LESS can really mean MORE through digitisation.

Active digitalisation push with super setting
“HTS approached us actively and, after a lean onboarding process with kickoff workshop, potential analysis and more, provided us with a great consulting partner to enable digital innovation,” says Managing Director Christian Lorenz. “Everything was handled very efficiently, structured and professionally by HTS, so that we were also able to integrate the EDI project ideally into daily business!” In the process, HTS and its consulting partner provided Lorenz Consult with event-related support during implementation.

A spirit of optimism boosted by quick wins
What were the focal points? Christian Lorenz analyses: “Essentially, it concerned IT itself and the business area of construction. Our own IT specialist was always so covered with internal projects that the necessary capacities or a free head were not possible here.” After all, digitisation in the construction industry is strongly driven by the designers, so standardisation was immensely important: “Essential for the good course of the project was the list of measures, the division of which into short-, medium- and long-term goals proved to be particularly valuable. Thus, the motivation in the company was high right from the start, because the quick wins had rapid effects and the medium-term objectives were also able to benefit from them quickly!”

Building a foundation for innovation with EDI
To give just one example that is emblematic of the whole: “For every 50 employees in our industry, there are 40 software application areas and 60 computers. Before EDI, our IT specialist had to maintain each computer manually,” Christian Lorenz thinks back. Now Lorenz Consult is already in the process of selecting a content management programme that standardises and manages everything. A real milestone: “The motto was ‘from 40 make 1’. No more annual updates, maintenance, administration – but the first step towards automation has been taken! Furthermore, we are now more location-independent, enjoy very high fail-safety and have been able to increase traceability in all processes!” In addition, the managing director sees the mindset and change management spirit from the directly affected application areas as transferable to the entire corporate culture. EDI has once again done a great job.

Lorenz Consult

Already in 1972 the company Lorenz Consult was founded as a civil engineering office for civil engineering by today’s senior manager Mr. Werner Lorenz and could prove itself in general planning and project management,

  • building construction, structural and building services planning and
  • construction supervision
  • over the years.

This also laid the foundation for long-standing customer relationships, many of which continue to this day. The core competences include the development, planning and realisation of buildings in the health sector, in steel and industrial construction as well as in the field of clean room technology.
