The new hot-dip galvanizing plant 5 was the final remaining investment project from the “Linz 2010” investment program, which has now been conclusively completed with the commissioning of this plant. The facility is designed for the production of steel strips with excellent surface and coating properties, especially in the area of new high-strength steels for the automotive, construction, and household appliance industries. The uniqueness of this new plant lies in its ability to provide coatings not only with zinc but also with zinc-iron and zinc-aluminum-magnesium. The plant’s capacity is 400,000 tons per year.
