Due to the closure of the previous location, a new building needs to be constructed. The new building will house the ÖBB Bahn Bistro, including a production kitchen and the necessary infrastructure such as delivery and storage rooms. It will also provide accommodation for internal use, with 15 single rooms and 8 double rooms.

The new building is located in close proximity to the roundhouse, at a historically significant site influenced by railway usage. It is also near the revitalized and adapted and expanded railway station building that meets the new requirements. The design of the new Bahn Bistro in Salzburg will take these factors into consideration.

Lorenz Consult was commissioned as part of the general planning consortium (ARGE) to handle general planning coordination, structural engineering planning, and HVAC planning.
